The Morganville First Aid & Rescue Squad is always looking for new members!
All that you need to volunteer is a desire to help people. No previous training or experience is necessary, and members come from all walks of life - from high schoolers to retirees, from homemakers to lawyers. Members stay for the fun and satisfaction we feel while serving the community and the friendships we cultivate with our colleagues. When someone calls 9-1-1 with a medical emergency or a traumatic injury, we are the people who respond in an ambulance and provide assistance.
There are two basic membership types: Regular members and Cadets.Regular membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or older and in good health. These members receive free training in CPR and free enrollment in an Emergency Medical Technician course. We are expected to volunteer at least 40 hours per month. Help is most needed during the day, but all help is appreciated and we will help you to volunteer when it is convenient for you. If you wish to join as a regular member, please call us at (732) 591-1200 and leave a message, or email us at membership@mfars.org. You can save some time by having a membership application already filled out when we get back to you.
Cadet membership is open to anyone between 16 and 18 years of age and in good health. These members receive free training in CPR and first aid, and may also receive free enrollment in an EMT course if desired. They are expected to volunteer at least 16 hours per month, and they assist the regular ambulance crew on first aid calls. We ask that applicants for cadet membership have an interest in moving to the regular squad when they turn 18. If you plan to pursue a college education, we ask that you help us when you are on break. If you wish to join as a cadet, please call us at (732) 591-1200 and leave a message, or email us at cadets@mfars.org.
Thank you for your interest in helping your community, and we look forward to hearing from you!
